Material
Expanded perlite, Portland cement, Sand, Gravel, Water
Mixing
This is one of the most important steps. A proper mixer designed for lightweight
aggregate is required. A wrong choice will cause improper mixing and breakage
of perlite particles.
The amount of water being added is important. Excessive water will cause
sinking in blocks, improper dimensions and poor finish. Too little water
cause cracks, corner breakage and reduced strength.
Mixing time is also important factor, as excessive mixing will cause breakdown
of the perlite.
